Has anyone ever retrofitted the type of retractable belts that are mounted in the roof area? I thought I had seen some car that has the belts retract int the headliner area that maybe we could mount where our older non-adjustable shoulder belts do. Has anyone else seen these or am I just dreaming?

Wonder if a system like that could be implemented? > Take it easy I have seen many old cars where the owners have used the rear seat belt mount for a harness mount. You just need a long "Y" harness. You have to make sure that the belts are at a reasonable angle, and will not fall off your shoulders or pull you down incorrectly. Ideally, they should be pulling you back and down into the seat, but our older cars with short seats can cause problems. If you have a higher back seat, then it might work just fine. That said, the C2 corvettes had optional shoulder belts in the 60's, and the factory mounting point is way back where the frame kicks up by the rear wheel. I'm thinking about the long "Y" harness for my Chevelle if I dont add a cage, and at some point in the future I'd like to do something similar to the Corvette, if I can fit decent seats. I'd really like a roll bar in the Corvette, but can't easily fit one to work with the convertible top...
