I have a '66 SS 396 EF engine code (360 HP option w/4 spd) and have been on a search for the correct carb. Currently on my car is a Holly List #3310 - 2. Referring to the Chevrolet by Numbers book a Holly List #3310 belongs to a '65 / '66 396ci 375 HP, but the book does not show a List # 3310 - 2
Here's the real question. What does the " - 2 " mean after the List # 3310? I am this carb kick because: Found a guy selling parts off a 360 HP engine in Detroit. Asked a friend of mine in Detroit to go over and check out the carb. I gave him what List # it should be, but left it at home and bought the carb anyway. It turned out to be a Holly List # 3140 - 1 (for a '65 / '66 396ci 325 HP AT or '65 / '66 427ci 350 HP AT). No problem, I could still use it if I want and my buddy is redeemed as he also picked up the 874 / 999 exhaust manifolds I've been also looking for.
