I've always used the rubber end seals (or cork in some sets) and just a dab of silicone where the intake sides slide in.  Big blocks, small blocks, no difference.  Nothing on the two intake/head gaskets.  I've never had an intake leak.  If you set the intake DOWN straight and don't wiggle it around, it shouldn't leak at the front or rear, IMO.  Personally I like the Fel Pro gaskets as well.

Kurt, I used FelPro intake manifold gasket for the seal between the intake and heads then I used the blue silicone  to seal the intake to the front and rear of the upper part of the block. I didn't use the rubber seals that were supplied with the felpro intake gasket set. This was on a big block.

Looking for recommendations for what type of gasket sealant to use on my cast iron intake manifold to cast iron heads.

Silicone?  Copper spray?  Black monkey snot?

What has worked for y’all?

Thanks,
Kurt
