My book does not have any codes for the heads. It also does not explain the engine ID code beyond what we have already discussed. Good luck with it and let us know more when you get it. Of course it would be awesome if it turned out to be an IX code. My 68 Olds was rated at 365HP from the factory w/ single exhaust (375HP w/ duals) so I have a sense of what kind of power you may be putting out. Most importantly, have a good time with it, and I would suggest that you always save that matching-numbers engine & transmission in case you (or somebody else) might ever want to put it back to original.
