Hi
David,
My
book does not have any codes for the heads. It also does not explain the
engine ID code beyond what we have already discussed. Good luck with it and
let us know more when you get it. Of course it would be awesome if it turned
out to be an IX code. My 68 Olds was rated at 365HP from the factory w/ single
exhaust (375HP w/ duals) so I have a sense of what kind of power you may be
putting out. Most importantly, have a good time with it, and I would suggest
that you always save that matching-numbers engine & transmission in case
you (or somebody else) might ever want to put it back to
original.
