I'd
almost bet you can't. Unless someone has first hand knowledge, measure the
camshaft (one out of car) for its overall length - offhand I don't know what the
length is. You don't mention the engine size but you'll probably have to
raise the engine to drop the pan to get the timing cover off so you'd want
to take the measurement from the face of the block towards the grille with the
engine at that angle. Just remember there is NO give in the
camshaft. If the cam is 26" and the distance is 25 15/16", it won't
"wiggle" out.
Been a long time since I've changed a cam with the engine in the
car, but even the 55/56 with a small block you either removed the grill or
removed a couple of bars - and those engines sat a ways back from the
grille.
