Next question on my '71 Malibu 350 "tune up". I've been tracking down a drive train vibration for some time. Balanced wheels and drive shaft. Found some slop in the pinion yoke, which I'm going to replace. However, I noticed in my Haynes manual, it shows a shim between the transmission mount and the transmission for a '71 Malibu (4 speed Shaginaw transmission). I don't have one in my car. If the shim were removed, it might change the drive shaft/pinion angle and create a vibration.
