Larry, that's not entirely true. I guess if your
going to have over 300 hp you might want to strenghten a couple of parts. The
drum is one. It should be heat treated at the spline area or it has a tendency
to wipe out. The last 3 years of the 200-4-R this part was heat treated across
the board. It was originally done for Opel then GM decided to go across the
board. It's a very good transmission and it was built with a dual bolt
bellhousing. It will fit any GM car. Now the 200, that's another story.
Remember, this trans (2004-R) was in the Buick Grand National, and that was
turbo charged. The best one to get if you can find one is from a Buick T type.
These are very tough. It's what I plan to use. I was going to go with a 700R4
but talking to some engineers at work they convinced me the 200-4R is
better.
