For those of you considering a fiberglass cow*L* induction hood, here's my
$0.02 worth (not much, I know).

Consider that the original hood had grills at the rear of the hood. This
allowed cool outside air to enter the grills, flow into the inside of the
cowling, and into the passenger area via the kick panel vents. My Harwood FG
hood doesn't have the grill openings, nor does it even attempt to seal off the
cowl area. The result is the air for the kick panel vent comes right out of
the engine compartment (directly past the headers I think), and you get a free
auxiliary non-adjustable heater blowing in. Something to consider. Guess how
I found out.....

2nd, my Harwood FG hood doesn't allow for windshield wiper arms. It's too
tight against the cowling. I've been told I can trim the lip of the hood
enough to allow the arms to clear, but this worries me a bit. Guess how I
found out, I'm a slow learner, eh?

3rd, don't forget that FG will expand/warp quite a lot in the hot sun. My hood
was perfectly aligned horizontally with the fender at the rear/hood hinge area,
until my first car show. The hood raised up a bit. I've been told that's a
common problem with FG hoods. Also, when the hood is cool, it'll open without
touching the fenders/header anywhere. But out in the sun, it expands enough to
just touch the header panel when opening.
Again, I found out the hard way. :-)

I really like my hood, but wouldv'e been nice to know these issues ahead of
time.
take care,
