John... If you have access to a welder a lift and have basic tools. whizzer. grinder . installing floor pans is within most guys capability.. the Big problem arises is if your floor braces are BAD.. That gets to be a BIGGER job and to do that one right you need to separate the body from the frame one side at a time to gain access to the rocker panel floor seam.
As for the One Piece Floor.. IMO leave that one for the pro's.. and you need the body off the frame in install it with out cutting... examine you floor area,, it's divide into 6 parts.... toe board,. center and rear.. Driver side and Passenger Side.. If your floor braces are good.. get the pans that are needed to repair the affected areas.. Team Chevelle has some great info in the archives on this issue.. There are a number of methods being butt welding and overlap welding.. if it's a driver the 1/2 in seam overlap is A-OK if your a 1000 pointer you got to butt weld...
