You have to pull the cover to get to the c clips. Once the cover is off
rotate the drive shaft until you see a 5/16 bolt that holds the pinion shaft
( spider gears ) in place. Remove the bolt, push the axle into the rear end
and remove the clip, then slide the axle out. Try not to move the spider
gears around too much. They can fall out. After the axle is removed you can
pull the axle seal then the bearing. Installation is reversed. One word of
warning, if that 5/16 bold head breaks off and it happens, you can use a
razor blade to help turn it out by going between the carrier and the pinion
shaft if you are careful and luck enough. Normally these come out pretty
good.
