Mine did that on the 65. I replaced it. Problem
solved.

My Passenger side outside door mirror will not stay in
position. If you close the door a couple of times it is way off
line.
Any simple tricks that will tighten up a factory mirror?
Obviously this is one of those friction things that I need to somehow tighten
but is a pressure thing that has no adjusting mechanism...
Any thoughts
from the Chevelle Guru's?
