Hey guys,   I'm really glad this subject was brought up. I am at the point with my 66 where I'm needing to think about how to prep all of the metal. It would be great if someone could give an explanation of the different types of primers,sealers, rust encapsulators, etc.. and their applications for different types of topcoats. It's my understanding (& please correct me if I'm mistaken) that an etching primer (a.k.a.. wash primer) is to be used over bare metal to prime and help prevent rust. Does this basically do the same rust prevention as Ospho, or Metal Prep? If you plan on using any body filler you will then have to use an epoxy primer (such as DP90) over the etching primer?? Is an epoxy primer such as DP90 (DP90LF) considered a 2K primer? Where does POR & the like enter the equation? Can you coat body sheet metal  with these rust encapsulators or are they only good for floors and insides of fenders and such? Spray a very light coat over all metal surfaces. You will still be able to see through the primer for any additional work needed.
