Steve,

My source is (1) my GM Parts and Accessories book I used when working at a Chevrolet dealer part counter in 1971-72 and (2) essentially the same book on CD by Detroit Iron.  I don't have any books compiled by so-called experts on restoration or how to tell if you have a real SS or not.  I hear of too many errors in a lot of those regurgitated publications.

A lot of aftermarket suppliers will "lump" different years of parts into a fit-all situation and then the part usually requires some user-modification to make it work.

Dale,
Thanks, but what's your source please? Is this a GM resource or an aftermarket book?

This is getting really confusing. I am hearing that this BBC shroud doesn't cover the whole radiator core. I also heard that the 68 does, but the 68 used a short water pump, which places the fan in a slightly different location? Also need different pulleys.

Thinking strongly on going with a custom or shroud from an A/C company if I can't find a good GM shroud for my 69 BBC.

1.277 SHROUD-BRACKET-CLIP-FASTENER-GUARD-EXTENSION, Radiator Fan

69 Chevelle (396),
70 Chevelle (400 w/4BC),
70 Chevelle (396/454),
71-72 Monte Carlo (400 w/4BC, 402,454)………...6261914

Apparently in the 69 Chevelle w/bbc, air conditioning made no difference in the shroud.  The only other listing for a 69 Chevelle is:

69 Chevelle (8 cyl)(exc C.A.C., H.D. Rad., P.G., T.H. 350,396),
70 Chevelle (307,350)(exc C.A.C., H.D. Rad. Monte Carlo),
70 Monte Carlo (350,400 w/2BC)(exc C.A.C., H.D. Rad., T.H.350)
71-72 Monte Carlo w/2BC (350)(exc C.A.C., H.D. Rad., A.T.)………...6261912
