JGA 502 is good.  The best suction set up would be a #80 air cap with an EX tip and a DEX needle.  Although the fluid tip is large you use the needle adjustment to cut down flow.  There are smaller tips but the taper doesn't work as well with the suction air cap.  It works, but not well.  I have a bunch of good used DeVilbiss guns and parts should someone need a deal on some.

Toadys standards?......Who is Toady? How about Todays standards. I guess I had an attack of fat fingers.

Actually, a Devilbiss JGA502 is a very good spray gun. The only problem you may run into is that most of them came with rather large fluid tips and air caps by toadys standards. The newer version of the same gun is the JGV.

Tell me the numbers stamped on the air cap and the fluid tip behind it and I can tell you what setup it has.

I have a that has never been used. Can anyone tell me if this is a HVLP gun?
Can I use it to paint my car with good results or should I just go out & buy a new one?
Thanks
