John , not 100% sure about 68 to 72 model years but the 64 to 67 have these
line up pin holes  below the cowl and at the rear coal spring perch pads...
IMHO being off a 1/4 " can be significant in lining up the panels.
example only being off 1/4 from the rear to the front , then continue that
off setting line to the front end , the radiator  frame mounts. are  now off
3/8 of an inch

I am placing the body back on the frame and wondered how accurate I need
to be. Currently, using the holes at the front (below the cowl), the
body is shifted back about 1/4" from being perfectly over the holes. I
can insert all the hardware to attach the frame, but was wondering is
this 1/4" will be a problem when I go to install all the body panels for
the front-end (fenders, hood, etc.)

Will I have a problem attaching the front end if I don't fix this
offset?
