Well, here it is.

I took your advice and painted the column, like you said to repaint it, but I was on my own when it came to repainting it a second time....
Sanded the column with 0000 steel wool, after letting it dry for a week in the wife's kitchen. Then I repainted it again with the Eastwood chassis paint, and it turned out fantastic. Once again in the wife's kitchen drying time one more week..
