Yeah, no instructions.  But I was successful!  I undid the motor mount and
lifted the motor, and sure enough with a very tight squeeze, the header came
through.  So, I am that much closer on getting the motor started!

Not to be flippant, but did you get the instructions with the headers? They
usually tell you if you have to raise the engine and/or remove stuff.
Driver's side normally require lifing the engine on that side and or
removing clutch linkage (if so equipped) in order to do the installation.
