I just fitted 17x10-5.5 BS 285/40 rears. It took trimming about half of the wheel well lip, and splitting the inner fender wall, beating it flat and re welding it for good clearance. I also went with heavier Hotchkis coil springs and Edelbrock shocks. Was a bit of work but well worth it. The other option to fit this size wheel was to shorten the rear end by about two inches. I had the extra clearance on the inside. If the wheels had a six inch BS they may have fit without mods. Keep in mind that nine inch wheels with a 5.5 inch BS should bolt right up.
