I've used Fast Orange handcleaner, and it takes off all kinds of baked-on crap. Just put a bit of it on a rag and wipe them down. Use a wet cloth to wipe them again to make sure you have all the cleaner off, as it smells foul when heated. :-)

Ok, I know this is probably going to sound dumb, but has anyone cleaned their plug wires before? What did you use? I was going to wipe them down with WD40 but figured the oil residue would attract more dirt. Since they're off the engine (I had to replace a burnt boot) I'm now thinking bucket of soap and water. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
