[Chevelle-list] Wiring Harness Choices

I got a little pissed off at an evasive wire grounding in the rats nest that I call my dash harness… so I ripped the damn thing out.  I have never done this before so I am a little confused (and nervous).  OPGI has a few harnesses listed (Painless, factory-style, reproduction), but they don’t give much explanation on them and there seems to be some large price differences.  So, I was wondering if you all could help me out with some questions…    -- This is for a 69 Chevelle Malibu -- 1)         Does anyone have any opinions on the different harnesses?  I want reliability and while I care about restorability, if an aftermarket harness is the best thing to get, then I would go for it.   2)         Should I be getting any other harnesses?  I didn’t have to do much cutting to get the existing wiring harness out but there was some…  I noticed a rear lamp harness and console harness listed.  I would bet the console harness is fine but I believe I had to wack a few of the cables on the rear lamp harness (if that’s the block that is in between the engine harness and dash harness).   3)                  Last one, any suggestions on books or manuals?   Thanks very much for any suggestions you have.   JB (I feel like burning my harness and dance around it.  Get the evil grounding spirits out)
