The Painless kits are good for hot rods and custom applications, but don't come with most of the sockets, connectors, etc.
We sell the Painless kits, but we alsocarry wiring harnesses made by M&H. We've found them to be the best quality, most-accurate reproduction wiring harnesses out there. They are just like the originals ...with brand new wires and connectors!

As far a manuals, I've found the factory assembly manuals to be the best reference. They not only have wiring diagrams, but also show how the wiring harnesses are routed through the car. Very good stuff! (We carry these, too).

1) Does anyone have any opinions on the different harnesses? I want reliability and while I care about restorability, if an aftermarket harness is the best thing to get, then I would go for it.

2) Should I be getting any other harnesses? I didnât have to do much cutting to get the existing wiring harness out but there was someâ I noticed a rear lamp harness and console harness listed. I would bet the console harness is fine but I believe I had to wack a few of the cables on the rear lamp harness (if thatâs the block that is in between the engine harness and dash harness).
