I saw that show and I think the point they made was that you shd touch the outside of the car AS you slide out of the seat, or just after getting out, but not to wait till you're near the nozzle because the fumes can be outside there. I have always made it a habit to put my hand on the outside of the car as I get out, otherwise I usually get a nasty shock the first time I touch the car after that. The seats are cloth seats. With plastic or leather seats it's never a problem. DK All Charged Up
