It's a bolt on swap, so not a major project. You can buy everything repo or
pick up parts at a swap meet or ebay. Depending on the automatic you may
have to replace/modify the drive shaft.

I've converted two cars (a '69 Lemans and my current '66 Chevelle) over with
no problems.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Hey guys question

I'm new to this mailing list and I got eyes set on a 1970 Chevelle. Most of
the models that I see around my area all have an auto transmission. My
question is how hard is it to convert from and auto to a standard? Getting
the transmission is not really an issue for me but rather all the other
parts peddle ect.
Is it worth the money and time to convert an automatic to a standard or
should i be looking for a car that already has the standard in it?

Much appreciated,
Aaron
