Just before I left the car to the shop I plugged an old
unused gas return line, could that cause the car to get
hard to start even after short distances?
But that in turn must mean that the gas tank is completely
tight & sealed, creating a vacuum, which I doubt.

I got the advice to get a "heat insulator" to the base of
the carburetor, avoiding vapor lock...
To get a new "ignition coil"...
Wrap the headers with heat wrap...

Any more ideas?
