I have a TH350 out of a 70 Chevelle in my 69 El Camino. It has always had a slight leak in the front right corner. It's not the gasket, although I did replace that twice. It seems to be coming from the tranny lines because they had fluid on them last time I checked, and then running down past the dipstick tube, and then off the front corner of the trans. I disconnected the lines, wrapped the threads in Teflon tape, and put them back, making sure they were good and tight, and it still leaks. Any ideas?
The dipstick tube is right below the lines, but I don't think it's coming from there. I guess I may as well replace the O-ring on that too. Does anybody know the size? Finally, I have to connect the steel vac mod line. Does anybody know which size rubber vac line I need? Otherwise I'll have to go out to the car, get the tube, etc. Naturally I'd like to take care of all three of these things in one day. After that, I just need to get the Flowmaster pipes welded up and get the front end aligned, and she'll actually be ready to drive. Thanks for any advice about the tranny & vac lines. John Nasta
