I was replacing the heater core on my 66 this weekend. The thermostat that sits in the heater box is mounted on a piece of cardboard-like material. When removing the heater box this cardboard was very brittle and practically disintegrated. Is there any place to buy a replacement thermostat? Has anyone else run into this problem before? Its probably not difficult to make a new mounting piece, but given the age, maybe its better to replace the thermostat. Thanks.
