I am in the middle of a frame off restoration on my Convertible 69 which is equipped with A/C. The car came with plastic inner fenders, when I removed them of course they were horrible. After much asking around even on this list, I was told that at the plant they put in what they had, some with plastic some with metal.
I decided to go with metal, much better and sturdier fit, the plastic ones are very hard to fit properly.

I have been reading this thread with interest plus I am scratching my head and trying my damndest to remember back to summer of 1967 - 1968. I was in college and worked at the Brownning Highway Fisher Body Plant in Baltimore on the assembly line...


I was of course young, and much more interested in chasin women then building cars BUT I CAN NOT RECALL ever seeing plastic fender wells ... but then again I never was assigned to that job either...
