Dave, I used the stock sending unit, ran a 3/8" rubber line to a manual shut off valve. The valve is in place to shut the fuel off so I can change the filter, which is next in line (a standard 3/8" inline filter w/hose). Next it runs to the fuel pump - all with rubber hose to this point since it's gravity and low pressure fed. From the Accel (Summit #ACC-74701) pump, I run braided line to an Accel pressure filter (Summit #ACC-74720), then braided hose to the engine and the regulator on the FI unit.
My 67 had a vent line from the sending unit up along the right rear fender area. I simply connected the factory fuel line to the return line on the regulator in the engine compartment and then to the vent line bung on the sender as a return fuel line. I vented the tank by drilling a small hole in the gas cap.
