This thread is interesting to me as I do restoration work for others. I have never run into a situation where a customer has taken credit for my work and don't know how I would feel about it. I can say that magazines should print articles about nice cars and give proper credit to the people who make them nice. And owners should be allowed to be proud of their cars regardless of how much personal sweat and blood they put into it, just don't take credit for the work they paid to have done.
