If it's legit, the "friends" email or phone should be
supplied. Talk to the owner. Some could be legit...say your neighbor
wanted to sell his car and you offered to sell it for him on eBay. More
often than not from what I've seen, the seller is hiding behind this phrase so
they won't be held responsible when/if they misrepresent the
car.
Like anything else on eBay or even the local paper,
buyer beware. Know what you're looking at - what's real and what isn't -
and go from there.
