A 2 bolt block is just fine for 500 HP. Mine is pushing around 510 right now and when I change the heads in the near future, I am sure it will be pushing a tad more than it is now. I can tell you that I don't drive my 70 easy, it gets beat on hard from time to time and has held up to what I put it through with no problems.
