Hi Mark, I have a 406, so I went with the 750. It has much greater throttle response. Due to the square bore design the response is instant when compared to the old Q-jet. It does not have the lag when the secondaries are opening. The Edlebrocks in general are incredibly easy to work with(tuning/rebuilding). I am also getting an average of 2-3 mpg more than before. I haven't been able to make a timed run with it yet, but it "feels" faster. On top of that, it looks great under the hood. While I am sure the proper Holly or some other high buck carb would do better, for the average street guy like myself, it is hard to beat for the money. I have 2 600cfm Edlebrocks on other vehicles for around 10 yrs. now and have had absolutely no problems and have been very pleased in general. I know I sound like a salesman, but they have impressed me that much. Unless you're into serious competiton it is the best route to go, IMO. Good luck and enjoy!

Brian,
What difference has it made? I'm thinking about making the switch too.
Thanks,
Mark

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Edlebrock carb

Hi guys(gals), I switched from a Q-jet to a 750 Edlebrock on my Chevelle. I love the difference it has made. I am however having a problem, when it has sat for awhile, usually overnight, I have to pump the heck out of it to get gas back to it to start. I have dealt with this on Q-jets with the seal on the filter to stop backflow, but I don't know what to do with the Edlebrock. The manual does not mention this. On some of my old trucks I've added an electric pump between the tank and the mech. pump. I hate to do this if I don't have to. Any suggestions?

 Thanks
