I put a 71or 72 tank in my chevelle. I plugged the front vents. I had to vent the tank somehow. I thought a temp solution would be to remove a little bit of the gas cap gasket. Not the right move. A 1/16 of gasket material removed will allow a TON of fuel to spill out on acceleration. After that drive I parked th ecar and went to the auto parts store to pick up a vented cap.
