I put a 71or 72 tank in my chevelle.  I plugged the front vents.  I 
had to vent the tank somehow.  I thought a temp solution would be to 
remove a little bit of the gas cap gasket.  Not the right move.  A 
1/16 of gasket material removed will allow a TON of fuel to spill out 
on acceleration.  After that drive I parked th ecar and went to the 
auto parts store to pick up a vented cap.
