700R4 I had built by Phoenix Transmissions out of Weatherford, TX will work up
to 450hp and they have ‘em up to 575hp. Other mfgs such as Bowtie
advertise up to 600hp. As I said, unless the engine is going to be
extremely built, the 700R4 and even a well built 2004R will hold up
nicely. The 700R4 has a much lower first gear (3.06) compared to a TH400
(2.48) so it’ll launch a bit easier in a heavy car. In addition,
