Subject: [Chevelle-list] Air Ride

Yes,my 69 now has a four-way,independent Air Ride suspension,Dan. Ride is
defnitely better than the former QA1 coilover set-up that I had on the
car, previously. Handling seems to be about equal(which was very good before)
but I'm still learning how to utilize the system. I need to program the
computer so it starts up with a specific ride height. Once that's
done, finding the system's "sweet spot" will be much easier. My car was one
of the few with air ride at Chevellabration and dropping it down in the
grass on the show field generated a lot of conversation.
We used products from Air Ride Technology http://www.ridetech.com On the
front,I installed a pair of their Strong Arm drop center lower control arms
and Shockwave V3.0 coilovers. On the rear,I installed a pair of their
Shockwave 9000 coilovers. For a control system,I used their four way
ARC4000c that controls each corner independently of each other for best
handling.
My cost for all of ART's top of the line components was approximately
$3,000. If one wanted just a much better ride quality, you could install a
set of separate air bags and shocks for less than $1,500. Just depends on
your individual needs and wants.
