The stampings are not always very deep and can be hard to find - dirt and even paint can cover them up sometimes. They should be facing the front of the car, passenger side, about 8"-10" inboard of the backing plates. Try a wire brush and strong light, you may still get lucky. I think 64 to 66 use the same spring mounting pads but they changed in 67; a 67 can be used but you have to use 67 springs or cut/weld a new plate to use your 66 springs.
