The hinges are different, and there were 2 different hinges for the 68 model year, 12 1/4", and 12 3/4" spacing. The 69 hinges are 14 something inches apart. There is also a difference in the top of the hood where the hood safety latch fits. The 69 has a rectangular hole cut into the hood, the 68 doesn't. If you use the 69 latch, it will hit the hood unless you cut a hole in it. I know that the marker light holes are different on the fenders, and there may be other differences that I'm not aware of. I think you'd be better off with the correct year parts rather than having to spend a lot of time & effort modifying the 68 stuff to fit your car.
