I installed Baers on my '66 (fronts; waiting to get my rear set). Like Dale said it was pretty straight forward since my kit also did not require the spindle change out. That being said, I had to convert from a single reservoir to Baer's dual, so I'm running new stainless lines throughout the system (there is easier ways to go). The bad thing about Baers is cost and the wait getting them (I was told 6-8 weeks on the rears that I ordered through Detroit Speed...took about that long for the fronts last year)

If I ever do it again I'll probably look closer at the complete kits from SSB and MPB...but the Baers' sure look sweet!

BTW - I would highly recommend Pure Choice (http://www.performanceplumbing.com/) for anyone doing lines. I saw something about them on Trucks! (project Copperhead) and gave them a call. The service was outstanding and the hardware first rate. They walk you through the system and send you everything you need.

Oh, and my other recommendation of the day -a very cool flaring tool I got from Eastwood. They are slow as hell when it comes to shipping, but I've never been disappointed.  http://www.eastwoodco.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=2489&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=608&iSubCat=615&iProductID=2489

I’d think the major brands are pretty good swaps or they wouldn’t be in business long. Folks like Stainless Steel Brakes (http://www.stainlesssteelbrakes.com/), Master Power Brakes (http://www.mpbrakes.com/), Classic Performance (http://www.classicperform.com/)  etc.  I can only speak from personal experience but I used Baer (http://www.baer.com/) front discs on my 67 and the kit I used didn’t require disc brake spindles like some do.  I’m sure there are others out there as well.

Need input and recommendation for converting shoe to disc (front) for my 66 Malibu. Lot of them out there but don't know which is reasonable and good.

Thanks
