There's huge aftermarket support for the 9" and more gear ratios & options are available. I'm running a Chris Alston Fab 9 rear in my 69 Elky with Moser 31 spline axles,Detroit Locker diff,Motive Gear 4.11 gearset, and Baer 12" disc brakes.
