I think if you’re looking for a killer street motor and not necessarily a racer, look at your torque numbers and where you have the best torque range.  Redline pointers may impress the ‘looking through the window crowd’ but torque is what you need to get a (relatively) heavy car moving and give you the added benefit of staying in a higher gear when cruising the streets without having to down-shift all the time.   Dale McIntosh 67 El Camino 1967 Chevelle Reference CD now available!
