Offered mid year71 and all of 1972. It started as a poor man's SS so to speak and was a sporty option that supposedly didn't attract higher insurance rates. It was off the base Chevelle platform while the SS was off the Malibu platform. It could be optioned up but I don't think you could get the 454 in it.
