Even though it wouldn't be correct looking, would a '69 top plate & shroud fit a '68? I think it might, just based on the fact that my car has a 1958 block with a long water pump and later-style pulley setup, and the radiator and shroud were both from friends who just had them laying around. I have no idea what year or model car (or truck) either of them originally came from, but they fit fine.

The 68 fan shroud is a 1 year only item.  There are 3 bolts that retain the top of the shroud to the radiator cover, which is also a 1 year only item specific to 68.  The shroud has 1 bolt on each en, and 1 in the middle that you cannot see unless you look at the radiator from the engine bay, but you can fell it if you put your hand in the shroud.
