Title: Re: [Chevelle-list] underbody restoration
When I took my car apart I used spray can undercoating and went over the factory stuff before I put everything together.  It came out looking great when the thing was together again, very detailed.  This is difficult to do without having the exhaust, driveline, emergency brake, speedo cable and a whole bunch of other little stuff completely out of the way and other stuff masked off, but worth the effort.  ER

Do you have a suggestion that I could coat with that would cover the existing undercoating?  It does not look bad but I was just wanting to get that new semi-gloss look.  I am open to any and all ideas.

 Thanks,Clint

Why would you want to remove the undercoating,Russ? Just curious.

I have a question regarding the removal of old undercoatings.  I have a 65 Chevelle SS and today I checked the underbody.  I think it still has the original undercoating.  Last winter I put in a new carpet and the floorpans were in real good shape.  I think the underbody is also.  I have read several articles on how to remove this old undercoating and I wanted to see if anyone has some good advice.  I do not want to remove the body.
Thanks,
