Title: Gas Mileage
Tell your co-workers you will do the BB swap if they will buy the gas. <g> Oh,I know there are a few 454/4spd/4.10 cars getting 15+mpg but that really is not realistic for the average Joe. That ZZ502 combo might see 15mpg going down a very steep hill whereas the LS2/T56 combo might see almost 30,if everything's right.
An LS2 is a bunch lighter, too. If I had the big bucks, that's what I would install in my 69. Either that or an LT5.

This may be a silly question – I have not seen it discussed yet (probably because nobody wants to talk about it).

Does anybody out there with the ZZ502 know what kind of gas mileage you get with a behemoth like that?  I am considering putting one in the 72’ with a Tremec 5-speed and 3:08 gears.  Well, at least a few co-workers are trying to talk me out of the full-up LS2 and T-56 conversion and they have me thinking.  The ZZ502 Ram Jet was my first engine of choice, but I scrapped the idea because I wanted decent gas mileage and driveability.  Any suggestions?
