I’ve never had a BB but I do have a
2001 Camaro SS that has an LS1 and I love it. I was able to get 28mpg on
my last road trip (that’s straight highway driving at 70mph).
Normally I get around 20 or so which is mostly traffic. Some of that has
to do with the rest of the setup but the engine plays a main role. While
I love the rumble of the chevelle, something has to be said about pulling up in
something that’s fairly quiet and letting it loose. When out street
racing, which of course I never do, I’ve heard you should be most
concerned about the cars you can’t hear. The last time I dyno’d
the camaro it had about 423hp or so but that’s with all the SLP extras. From:

may be a silly question – I have not seen it discussed
yet (probably because nobody wants to talk about it). Does
anybody out there with the ZZ502 know what kind of gas mileage you get with a
behemoth
like that? I am considering putting one in the 72’ with a Tremec
5-speed and 3:08 gears. Well, at least a few co-workers are trying to
talk me out of the full-up LS2 and T-56 conversion and they have me
thinking. The ZZ502 Ram Jet was my first engine of
choice, but I scrapped the idea because I wanted decent gas mileage and
driveability. Any suggestions? TJ
