Joe,
Here's what the website I use, http://www.vmrintl.com/ , has to say.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] car value
I need the lists opinion on a possible purchase.
I have a friend who owns a 66 Chevelle SS, he has had this car since 1974. He has used it as a Drag car since 1978
Needless to say the body is perfect no rust whatesoever. It does not have a motor or transmision, but does has the original rear end. What would be a fair value to offer him for this car.
My interest is in restoring this car.
Thanks Joe P.
