Not much help but here are a couple ideas On our 04 Malibu Maxx the dealer set up the paperwork for us. We had to pay a fee to have the warranty transfered.
On my silverado GM sent me paperwork to BUY extended warranty plans. I would contact the dealer to get the contact info for the warranty transfer folks.
