Early Muncies were 7/8th in. while later were a full 1 inch. You will have to match that part to use your cluster gear etc. Also, be careful that there is not excessive wear where the cluster shaft goes through the case at the front. Often due to hard use many early cases were "stretched" there and you don't want to deal with that. There is of course a way to fix it but it is more trouble and expense. Hope this helps!
