It's when I floor it or give it gas very quick!
If I sort of coax it or give it gas very gently i can get pass the "dead" zone.
The vacum canister should be ok since the distr is a brand new HEI.
Is there any tuning to do with an "out of the box" HEI distr?
Float levels are approx in the center of the sight plug!

Have you checked your vacuum advance cannister? Just want to make sure that it isn't sticky inside and can release when you open the throttle.

Now when you say it hesitates, does it do it when you just floor it, or does it do it when you just ease into the throttle? Or both?

Hi again!

I turned the distr 180 degrees & installed i by the book!
I've adjusted the ignition back & forth & finally decided that 10 degrees was best!
The hesitation is much shorter now & the engine comes with full power after it
picks up again, but it still hesitates :-/

I tried that & it got marginally better!
I have adjusted the fuel bowl level "by the book"
Since my dist is 180 degrees "off" I have to fix that first
so I can use a lamp to adjust the ignition!

I'll be back

Try advancing the timing about 4 degrees.
