What is a "Automoble radio vibrator"? Saw this in their online catalog.

*The Truth as I remember it*. Once upon a time, long, long ago, auto
radios had vacuumn tubes inside. You can look it up in the history books
<LOL> . The tubes needed a high voltage to heat the cathode (?) (its
been a long time) in order to operate. The 6 volts, ( yes back then
automobile systems used *6* volt batteries) of the battery was not
enough. The vibrator converted the 6V DC to pulsating DC. Then the voltage
was raised to a level that would heat the cathode by use of a
transformer.

Then along came John Bardeen, William Shockley, and Walter Brattain.
And the rest is history.

Its been 40+ years, so take the above with a healthy dose of salt.
